It seems that 2018 is flying by and with my wedding in Spring 2019 fast approaching, I thought I would share some of my wedding ideas with fellow brides-to-be. After hours of debating on the best wedding venue, myself and my partner have both decided on a venue for the wedding. We have decided that a countryside wedding with a garden party reception would be the best course of action (fingers crossed for good weather!)
One of the best ways to wow your guests is to make sure that you have your outside garden party theme and decor down to a T. Ladies, a poorly planned theme can just look tacky, so keep it simple and classy.
Keep your details personal and beautiful and your theme broad, as this will create the luxurious and classic feel that every bride dreams of. Think carefully about all of the small details and make sure they are well fitted for the season.
One of my absolute favourite ideas is freezing flowers into ice cubes, which creates a beautiful drink garnish. This can even spark off a colour scheme, for example, I have chosen to go with the classic spring time pink colours and am using small dried roses to freeze in my ice cubes, I’m then going to use larger roses for the table settings (clever right?!)
Any wedding party is going to carry on past sunset, so it’s important to think about the lighting for your garden party. To keep up with the overall aesthetic, I’m going to have candles and chandeliers hanging in the outside gazebo. I was also thinking on having fairy lights through all of the trees, to really add to that ethereal vibe I want to create.
Entertainment is SO important for any wedding reception, it’s probably one of the worst case scenarios if your guests are so bored that they leave early.
With a garden party you can really go wild and have really fun interactive entertainment. A live band is a must for any wedding. As well as this, having interactive entertainment such as a glitter bar, where people apply glitter makeup to your guests, can really help to inject a bit of electricity and excitement into your wedding reception!
